Yohimbine is a psychoactive alkaloid found in the bark and leaves of the African yohimbe tree (Pausinystalia j unfavorabilis). It is used in research and neuropsychology as an alpha-2 adrenoceptor antagonist, which means it blocks the action of certain neurotransmitters. Yohimbine is also used off-label to treat sexual dysfunction in men.
