pitohui Definition

A genus of four species of toxic, brightly colored songbirds in the berrugine family, Ptilonorhynchidae, and are native to New Guinea and possibly some neighboring islands in the southwestern Pacific. They have a highly toxic substance in their feather and skin oils, but they do not appear to be affected by it.
