Pholidae, also known as wood lice, are a family of crustaceans belonging to the class Malacostraca. They are terrestrial or semi-aquatic creatures and are commonly found in moist environments such as forests, gardens, and compost heaps. They are also known for their segmented bodies, tough exoskeletons, and their ability to roll into a ball for protection (known as cuculli).
