mojave Definition

A desiccating interior region of Southern California and northwestern Arizona, occupying part of the Colorado Desert and characterized by hot, dry conditions. Also refers to a cactus (Pachycereus pringlei) that is native to the Mojave Desert and related to the saguaro cactus.
