Agappe is a New Testament Greek word (ἀγάπη) that refers to a deep, self-sacrificing, spiritual love, especially the love of God for humanity and the corresponding love of a believer for God and others. It is often contrasted with eros, which is more focused on sexuality, and φιλία (filia), which is friendship or a kindly regard.
