Niedersachsen, also known as Lower Saxony, is a federal state of Germany located in northwestern Germany. It is the second-largest state by both area and population. Niedersachsen is known for its diverse landscape, from the Weserbergland hills in the south to the marshes of the Lake Dithmarschen in the west.
