In classical mythology, Aeneus is an epithet for the Trojan hero Aeneas, known for his leadership and steadfastness during the fall of Troy and his subsequent journey to Italy, where he founded the city of Lavinium and became the ancestor of the Roman people. It is also an ancient name used as a given name by some.
